RED One low Light footage – Natural Lighting

www.REDOneRental.net Here is some test footage that we shot with our RED one and the RED 18-50 lens at F2.8 We used one key light that ran off my car with an inverter. In a bigger city we might not have needed the key but it certainly helped in Fresno. … “Red one Low Light” “Red sensitivity” “Justin McAleece” “BLARE Media” “Red One Camera Rental” “Red Low Light footage”

Great job man, all the Red One footage I have shot has been indoors!

  • sycovision:

Wow that’s amazing considering you’re using only one light. Great job.

  • pegasusmourning:

    I love the RED

  • Uncooltshirtsdotcom:

the RED cannot shoot interlaced. shutter speed has everything to do with this.

  • brundlefrog:

RED material is always progressive, never interlaced.

I’ve use the camera a couple of times, and y can confirm that shutter speed is the poblem.

  • ArtyomZakharenko:

they didnt mention in the end whether it was progressive or interlaced. Usually interlaced footage looks like video.. like the real cheap handycam video movement. Progressive is more filmlook, shutterspeed has nothing to do with this.

  • heinabak:

film is generally shot at 180 degree shutter angle which gives an aesthetic motion blur to moving images, you can tell this difference if you watch close enough. take a look at the new “Public enemies” trailer … it has been made to have a video look i suppose.

  • BlareMedia:

yeah it’s at 24fps and like it says on the video is at 1/24. if i had super speeds like I do this weekend then I would’ve just shot at f2

  • brundlefrog:

video cameras have that kind of image movement…have you seen the latest Michael Mann’s movie trailer “Public Enemies”? There you’ll see what I’m taking about…

Slow shutter speed it’s a killing issue for video cameras and red one.

Try with a Sony EX1 and shutter speed less than 1/48 (1/32 its the minimum, I think)… you will get the same kind of movement.

Was this test at 24fps??? Maybe that’s another reason.
